S- 10 Diesel Multiple Units

Sri Lanka RailwaysSri Lanka Railway received 15 Diesel Multiple Units from China and are being used in Sri Lanka, at present. These DMUs consist of 05 coaches and 01 locomotive and the interior arrangements of the coaches have been designed for short distance travel. These DMUs have been designed to run at 100 km/h.

The passenger can visit any of the stations having reservation facility or call the Telecom Service Provider’s Call Center by dialing the short code 365 to reserve his seats. Rehabilitation of Southern Railway Line

Sri Lanka RailwaysSri Lanka Railways is improving its tracks on a massive rehabilitation programme. The improvements to Coastal Line railway  (160 km) was completed on 11th April 2012. The Northern Line railway reconstruction (310 km) and the extension of Coastal Line from Matara to Kataragama(35 km) has already started.
