Time Plan for Commencing Operations
ADDITION OF EXTRA TRAIN SERVICES
In view of the Christmas festival, school holidays, and the extended year-end vacation, it has been planned to operate additional train services as follows:
- On 24/12/2025 at 3.00 p.m., a special express train is scheduled to operate from Maradana to Matara. This special train is scheduled to depart from Matara Railway Station on 29/12/2025 at 5.00 a.m. and arrive at Colombo Fort at 8.30 a.m..
- The Colombo Fort – Kankesanthurai Intercity Train is scheduled to operate on 25/12/2025 and 28/12/2025. (This train consists of 9 first-class air-conditioned coaches.)
2025/12/24 දින සිට ගල්ඔය - මඩකලපුව අතර පහත පරිදි දුම්රිය ධාවනය ආරම්භ කිරීමට සැලසුම් කර ඇත.
Yalrani train service between Kankesanthurai - Anuradhapura on the Northern Railway line to resume from 22/12/2025
Northern Railway Line fully opened for train operations.
