Power Cars for Aruwakkadu Waste Processing Facility (Metro Colombo Solid Waste Management Project)

Power cars specially made for Aruwakkadu Waste Processing Facility under Metro Colombo Solid Waste Management Project in Puttalam spotted while loading to a Vessel in China. There are 4 new power cars fleet will be named as “Class S14A” and some flatbed rail cars were arrived in Sri Lanka from China at Colombo Harbour on 2nd January, 2020.

Loading of MCG for Transport of Solid Waste to Aruwakkaru as joint venture with Sri Lanka Railways & Ministry of Mega polis & Western Development

Sri Lanka Railways will contribute to the Aruwakkadu Waste Management Project by Transporting solid waste to Aruwakkadu area of Puttalam from the Kelaniya Transfer Station using rail transportation.

The design of the power cars is very similar to Class S14 power car design and some noticeable differences are dual cabin design and green color livery.
