Upgrading of Railway Line from Maho to Omanthai
Overall Objective:
To enhance the track condition of Northern Line from Maho to Omanthai in order to facilitate the safe, efficient and comfortable transportation for the passengers and freight transportation.
The details of the above work is given below;

New Containers Cars and Oil Wagons for Sri Lanka Railways
Sri Lanka Railways received 25 tank wagons and 10 Container Cars from India. Sri Lanka Railways is planning to recommence rail transport of coal for Nuraichcholai Power Plant and Raw materials for Prima.
Power Cars for Aruwakkadu Waste Processing Facility (Metro Colombo Solid Waste Management Project)
Power cars specially made for Aruwakkadu Waste Processing Facility under Metro Colombo Solid Waste Management Project in Puttalam spotted while loading to a Vessel in China. There are 4 new power cars fleet will be named as “Class S14A” and some flatbed rail cars were arrived in Sri Lanka from China at Colombo Harbour on 2nd January, 2020.
